“The price will remain $0.99 after Early Access. Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access? What is the current state of the Early Access version? The source code to the Creature Creator (i.e., this game’s project files) and the standalone plugin will release! I’ll also be publishing lots of separate assets for free, which I created while working on this project!” At this point, most of the issues will have been resolved, and so the game will be in "Full Release" phase! The store page itself also needs a bit of TLC, and so will get a makeover. Steam stats and achievements will be added. Now that all of the core content has been added, I’ll take a few days to polish the game and make any balancing tweaks necessary. Don’t worry though - your existing creatures will be safe - you’ll just need to unlock the relevant parts and patterns to be able to reconstruct them! The major release of the open world “Farm” map! At this point, all of the core content will be included in the game and it will be in “Release Candidate” phase! Parts and patterns will now be scattered throughout both maps to be collected. I've decided to instead release the abilities with "Farm", as most of them are really only applicable there, and the previously mentioned tasks took higher priority. Mac and Linux builds are now available! Loads™ of issues have been resolved! Additionally, several highly requested features have been added such as a tutorial and colour picker! The new map, "Sandbox", was also added, and some changes were made to "Island". The game launches into Early Access, kickstarting the “Beta” testing phase! The island will be the only map available, and all parts and patterns will temporarily be unlocked (upon overcoming your first obstacle). How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version? “Creature Creator will be in Early Access for 1 month!” Early Access provides an opportunity to finalize those features, while still being able to release it to the community and receive feedback on existing content!”Īpproximately how long will this game be in Early Access? The other parts are just different appearances for the existing parts, but more creativity is always a plus.“Due to limited time as a result of university and other commitments, several features weren't fully implemented before the 1st of August. I'm thinking perhaps simply merging the two and trying to make sure the part unlocks carry over to the other parts. The cell editor and the -state:CellEditor editor (referred to in the game files as the 'complete' cell editor) are separate. Regarding the Cell Stage, that is also on my to do list. ![]() If it does, then I need to figure out how to make it less prone to crashing on a dime. I'm going to try to make a copy of the creature modification tool in Space Stage and apply it to flora instead, see if that works out. Personally I've been trying to make the flora editor accessible from in game, but I have not yet had any success. It's possible and even likely the spore servers don't attempt to distinguish too much on the content types, but there are certainly some filters. If I could find a copy, I could attempt to make them uploadable, but there's no guarantees the Spore servers would accept that type of content. ![]() There was a mod out there some time ago that tried to fix this. It was rated E by the ESRB in early March 2008, indicating that the editor would be released. The flora editor has always been extremely buggy. The Spore Creature Creator is a software that allows players to create their own creatures with a standalone version of the Creature Editor from Spore the software was one of the first aspects of the game to receive focused development, and underwent ten rewrites since the start of development. You can mod the editors to remove or set an arbitrarily ceiling for complexity.
